Industry leaders and MPs from all three main political parties will be attending the Fair Pint summit in the House of Commons tomorrow morning.
The industry leaders will be joined by tenant’s and trade union representatives and a number of leading MPs, including members of the Business and Enterprise Select Committee,to discuss the changes that are needed to the industry in light of the Select Committee’s report on Pub Companies.
Steve Corbett a tied tenant and member of the Fair Pint Steering Group said:
“Interest from the industry and Parliamentarians show that Fair Pint is seen as a group which is leading the debate about the future of the industry as the recognised voice of tenants.
“The Business and Enterprise Select Committee highlighted the damage which is being done to the sector by the ‘pubco’ business model and the urgent need for change if the current rate of business failures within the tenanted pub sector is going to be stemmed.
“The summit will allow participants to debate the future of the industry and how the consensus for reform within the industry can be converted into the changes which the industry needs to secure its future.”
